Hania Ferrara Honored at Convocation
Teaneck, NJ – (October 4, 2004) Hania Ferrara was honored at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s academic convocation on September 29 with a Presidential Citation.
President J. Michael Adams applauded Ferrara – the University’s Associate Vice President for Finance and Controller – for her diligence and dedication to the University.
In presenting the award, he singled out one project for special praise -- the refinancing of the University’s bonds of 1993. “The task of retiring the 1993 bonds and refinancing a new series of bonds…was indeed a challenge. You quite literally worked day and night, weekdays and weekends to assure that the savings were achieved. It takes a strong and knowledgeable leader to bring such a project to fruition. You, Hania, provided both the determined leadership and the essential expertise.”
Adams noted that Ferrara’s career at Fairleigh Dickinson has been filled with successes. Ferrara is a summa cum laude graduate of the University with a bachelor of science in accounting as well as a Master’s in Business Administration. She earned status as a CPA in the State of New Jersey and made her mark in the public sector.
Ferrara returned to her alma mater in 1992, joining the University as assistant controller, and has played a pivotal role on a number of important University committees. In addition to her administrative role, she teaches in the Silberman College of Business and New College of General and Continuing Studies.
