An Afternoon of Music Performed by the All Seasons Chamber Players
Teaneck, NJ (March 10, 2014) The All Seasons Chamber Players, one of New Jersey’s most popular and active chamber music ensembles, will perform a special concert of chamber music on Sunday, March 30, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. in Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Edward Williams Hall (150 Kotte Place, Hackensack, NJ). The event is sponsored by the Cultural Arts Department and will also include a reception and art exhibit in the Edward Williams Gallery of paintings by Nadéne Grey entitled “Fray.”
Admission to the concert, reception and art exhibit is free and all are welcome. The audience is invited to come as early as 2:00 p.m. to enjoy the art exhibit and reception before the 3:00 concert. About the Program
The program,”Fantasy” will feature chamber music for flute, violin, cello, piano and piano duet. It will include two of the most famous fantasies in the chamber music literature, both written by Franz Schubert. The Fantasy for Piano, four Hands in F Minor and the Fantasy for Violin and Piano in C Major. In addition , the program will include a contrasting work, the Piano Trio in G Minor for Flute, Cello and Piano by Carl Maria von Weber with its beautiful “Shephard’s Lament.” Robert Lawrence, Co-Director for Programs, will introduce each piece to the audience with entertaining spoken program notes.
Performers will include flutist Brenda Sakofsky of New City, NY; violinist Bob Lawrence of NYC; cellist E. Zoe Hassman of NYC; pianist Jean Strickholm of Demarest and guest artist pianist Jacqueline Schiller-Audi of Paramus. Ms. Schiller-Audi holds degresss from The Juilliard School and The Mannes College of Music. She has performed extensively as a chamber musician and soloist with several orchestras including the Martinu Philarmonic at Carnegie Hall and has collaborated with members of the New York Philarmonic.
The All Seasons Chamber Players has performed over 700 live concerts in the metropolitan area. In addition, thousands of people have heard the ensemble on local TV stations. Ensemble performers are professional musicians who also play with major area orchestras, Broadway show and summer music festivals.
Winner of the Award for Artistic Excellence from the Bergen County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs, the ensemble has also received grants from several corporate and private sources.
The All Seasons Chamber Players is performing 23 concerts in the 2013-2014 season at Edward Williams Auditorium (FDU Hackensack), The Central Unitarian Church of Paramus, the Oradell Reformed Church; Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ridgewood; the Art center of Northern New Jersey in New Milford; and the public libraries of New Milford, Upper Saddle River, Fort Lee, Ridgewood, Englewood, Teaneck , Mahwah, Passaic, New City and Ossining.
