Nominating Petitions Now Available for the 2008 New Jersey Family Business of the Year Awards
Madison, NJ (March 17, 2008) – Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies announces that nominating petitions are now available for the sixteenth annual New Jersey Business of the Year Awards. All nominations must be postmarked by April 18, 2008. The annual competition is the only statewide effort to recognize the significant role played by family-owned companies in the economy and society at large.
Any family-owned company that includes, or has included, more than one generation is eligible. Anyone can nominate a business, including members of the company, employees, customers, clients, vendors and/or professional advisors. The awards were established in 1993 to honor those family businesses whose innovative practices and policies have had a positive impact on both business and community. Last year, New Jersey Governor John Corzine named October 2, the day of the awards announcement, as New Jersey Family Business Day.
Sponsors of the awards include: The Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies at Fairleigh Dickinson University, PNC Bank, New Jersey Monthly magazine, Camares Communications, J.H. Cohn and Co., Public Service Electric and Gas Company, and Schenck, Price Smith and King, LLP and The Crystal Plaza.
