College Expo 2004 for Adults and Graduate Students
More than 45 Colleges to Participate on Saturday, October 30
Teaneck, NJ (October 15, 2004) — For the first time, adults and graduate students will be able to attend a regional college fair designed exclusively for them. This is an opportunity for adults to investigate the hundreds of educational programs available to them in the New Jersey/New York metropolitan area and beyond.
More than 40 colleges and universities, most of them located in New Jersey and New York, will come together under the sponsorship of the Higher Education Consortium of the NY Metropolitan Area and offer College Expo 2004, an adult and graduate student college fair, on Saturday, October 30, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The fair is free and will be held in Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Rothman Center, University Plaza Drive, Hackensack, NJ. College Expo 2004 is supported by the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey.
Adults have a variety of goals when they consider continuing their education. For some, it is a graduate degree while others want to complete an undergraduate degree that was side-tracked by employment or family obligations. Many are ready to start a college program for the first time and others are interested in specialized certificate programs.
This regional college fair gives adults an efficient and convenient way to talk to representatives of more than 45 colleges and universities in the area and learn about the programs that fit their needs and goals.
Regional college fairs for high school students have been a valuable part of the educational landscape for many years. Individual colleges hold fairs or open houses for adults on a regular basis, but this is the first regional college fair for adults only.
During the fair, workshops will be held on “Issues Facing the Returning Adult Student” and “Financial Aid for Adults.”
