Walter Cummins and “The End of the Circle” at FDUMADISON, N.J. (April 19, 2010)— Walter Cummins, acclaimed author and Fairleigh Dickinson University professor emeritus of English, will give a presentation on his recent book “The End of the Circle” at FDU’s College at Florham on Thursday, April 29, 2010.
“The End of the Circle” is a collection of short stores by Cummins focusing on men and women displaced—displaced from homes, from lovers, from families, from careers, and most poignantly, from themselves. Cummins tells their stories as they wander on journeys through the mountains and streets of Europe
Cummins, a core faculty member for the MFA program in creative writing at FDU and professor emeritus of English at FDU, has published more than 100 stories in magazines such as “Kansas Quarterly,” “Virginia Quarterly Review,” “Confrontation” and “Other Voices.” He was the editor in chief of “The Literary Review” from 1983 – 2002 and from 2007 – 2008. Hi previous story collections include “Witness,” “Where We Live,” and “Local Music.”
Cummins’ presentation is sponsored by the FDU undergraduate and MFA programs in Creative writing and the Library of the College at Florham.
