Teaneck/Hackensack, NJ (September 6, 2005) — Eli Amdur of Teaneck, NJ, has been named Executive in Residence at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Center for Healthcare Management Studies in the Silberman College of Business.
Dr. Donald Zimmerman, Executive Director of the Center, announced the appointment noting that, for the past year, Amdur has served the Center in the capacity of Senior Executive Fellow and co-founded the Center’s Institute for Life Sciences Leadership.
Amdur, who has a 41-year relationship with FDU since he entered as a freshman in 1964, is currently Adjunct Professor of Executive Communication and Leadership in FDU’s MBA program, and has taught this course to MBA students from more than 40 countries. He has done extensive research on the subjects of leadership, talent development, and creativity and is the author of published articles on these subjects.
“We envision a stronger focus on the leadership element in our two MBA programs here in the Center, and look to Eli Amdur to help us create and grow this vision,” said Zimmerman. “He knows FDU, knows our students and programs, and is acknowledged as a leading, innovative teacher in the field of communication and leadership.”
“Our goal,” said Amdur, “is to develop new, creative leadership for the dynamic healthcare field. Working with Don Zimmerman, himself a visionary leader and recognized expert on national and global healthcare issues, I also hope to play a part in helping FDU fulfill its mission in preparing world citizens.”
The Center plans to grow their MBA programs internally and to continue to reach out in partnership with major healthcare organizations in New Jersey.
