Former New Jersey Attorney General Paula Dow to Speak at FDU
MADISON, N.J. (February 1, 2012)— Former New Jersey Attorney General, Paula Dow, will speak at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s College at Florham about Martin Luther King, Jr.’s quote “whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly” on February 15, 2012, from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Dow’s presentation will be held in Lenfell Hall, Hennessy Hall and a question-and-answer period will follow her lecture.
Dow, the former New Jersey Attorney General, was one of the first Cabinet appointments announced by Governor Chris Christie. She served as attorney general for two years, stepping down on December 31, 2011. She is currently serving as Senior Counsel for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
Prior to her appointment as attorney general, Dow served as Essex County Prosecutor, an office she held for six years. Her tenure as prosecutor was marked by the country’s highest conviction rates since 2000. Under Dow, the prosecutor’s office apprehended and obtained indictments against those accused of the brutal Newark school killings of 2007.
Dow’s presentation is sponsored by FDU’s Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) program, the Dean of Students Office, and the Diversity Council. The EOF is a university- and state-sponsored program created in 1969 to ensure meaningful access to higher education for economically and educationally disadvantaged students.
The public is invited to attend this lecture and admission is free. For more information, contact David Jones at (973) 443-8566 or email@example.com. Fairleigh Dickinson University’s College at Florham is located at 285 Madison Avenue, Madison, N.J. 07940.
