“Doo-Wopp Night” Features Live Performances and Vintage Film Clips
Hackensack, NJ (September 7, 2006) — For fans and hard-core enthusiasts of R&B/doo-wopp — this is your chance to see and hear Lenny Coco & The Chimes, The Chantels featuring Ami Ortiz, The Belairs and Four Man Trio. They will perform live on Saturday, September 30, beginning at 8 p.m. Between sets, there will be dancing with music by DJ Ronnie I.
To get a head start on the evening, rare film clips of historic vocal group performances will be shown starting at 6 p.m. This all happens in Hackensack, NJ, in Wilson Auditorium, Dickinson Hall on Fairleigh Dickinson’s Metropolitan Campus.
The United In Group Harmony Association, dedicated to the preservation, exposure and history of R&B/doo-wopp vocal group harmony, has put together this great evening of doo-wopp, supported by WFDU-FM. The FM station at Fairleigh Dickinson airs the popular “The Group Harmony Alley” on Sunday evenings from 6-9 p.m. featuring 1950s/60s group sounds with host Christine Vitale.
“Doo-Wopp Night” on September 30 has no advance ticket sale. Available only at the door, tickets are $20 for members of the United In Group Harmony Association and $25 for non-members.
