Office of Public Relations Fairleigh Dickinson University 1000 River Road Mailstop H-DH3-15 Teaneck, NJ 07666 (201) 692-7032 285 Madison Avenue Mailstop M-MS0-01 Madison, NJ 07940 (973) 443-8661 | Ann DeMeskey Receives Pillar AwardTeaneck, NJ September 29, 2003—Ann DeMeskey, a resident of Rutherford, NJ, has received the Pillar of Fairleigh Dickinson University Award in recognition of her contributions to the university during her 36 years of service.An assistant director in the human resources department on the university’s Metropolitan Campus, Ms. DeMeskey is known by her colleagues as a leader and a mentor. “Few at FDU are unfamiliar with your heartfelt sensitivity, your gracious courtesy, and your overwhelming kindness,” said Metropolitan Campus provost Joseph Kiernan in presenting the award. “Such traits have been combined with a thorough knowledge of and adherence to the policies, procedures, and programs that structure our living and learning environment.” Passionate about education, Ms. DeMeskey never misses an opportunity to promote the benefits of Fairleigh Dickinson’s employee tuition grant program. She also devotes much time to the student body, frequently volunteering to guest lecture to different classes on campus. During her tenure, which began on the university’s original campus in Rutherford and has spanned several administrations, Ms. De Meskey has not only lived through the university’s history but helped shape it. The Pillar Award is given annually to recognize exceptional individuals within the university who, over time, have made extraordinary contributions to the character and quality of the institution, its community and culture." | ||
