"From Paris to Vienna" Chamber Music Concert
Featuring All Seasons Chamber Players
Teaneck, NJ (October 6, 2004) – The program “From Paris to Vienna,” to be performed by the All Seasons Chamber Players on the Metropolitan campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University on November 7, offers a variety of musical styles from the two musical capitals of the world during the latter part of the 18th century and all of the 19th.century.
The program will include Gabriel Pierne’s Sonata da Camera for Flute, Cello, and Piano; Brahms’ lyrical Sonata in A Major, Op. 100 for Violin and Piano; Claude Debussy’s recently discovered Piano Trio in G Major; and Mozart’s Trio in C Major, K. 548. Program notes will be given before each section by Steve Anderson, co-director of the ensemble.
Performers for this concert will include flutist Brenda Sakofsky of New City, NY; violinist Robert Lawrence of NYC; cellist Ellen Zoe Hassman of NYC; and pianists Steven Anderson of Hackensack and Jean Strickholm of Demarest, NJ. All the performers are active professionals who play with major area orchestras, Broadway shows and summer music festivals.
The concert will be held at 3 p.m. in FDU’s Edward Williams Auditorium, 150 Kotte Place, Hackensack. The auditorium is reached from Hackensack Avenue South. Ample and free parking is available at the door. The public is invited to arrive as early as 2 p.m. to enjoy a reception and exhibit of paintings and pastels by Griselda Healy. This concert is one of twelve free, public Fleet Community Concerts sponsored by Fleet Bank with additional support from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
