Tom Chapin and Friends Live in Concert
Hackensack, NJ ( September 12, 2006) — Grammy-award winning Tom Chapin comes to Fairleigh Dickinson University on the evening of Friday, October 13, 2006 at 8 p.m. Chapin, a three-time Grammy winner, has had a career spanning years of international touring and 18 CDs.
He is an acoustic trend setter and has been widely hailed as one of the great personalities in contemporary folk music. His music is able to bridge generations and styles with great songwriting and personal warmth. Chapin said, “My musical heroes are people like Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie who wrote and sang real songs for real people.”
Chapin will be joined by Michael Mark, bassist and Grammy nominated musician, and Jon Colbert, an accomplished performing artist who has recorded with Dion, John Denver and John Lennon.
Also on stage will be three stellar musicians including Ted Clancy, HBO special lead guitarist, who plays a major role in the metropolitan area music scene as a studio stylist in rock, country, folk and jazz genres.
Fans will also welcome NAV Folk Album of the Year winner Scott Petitio, whose credits range from James Taylor to The Band, Keith Richards and Dave Brubeck. Scott is part of the legendary rock group The Fugs. For his work with Pete Seeger, he received a Grammy nomination. Rounding out the evening will be John Dull, NJ Magazine award winner for performance and production. Dull has been an integral player in the regional folk scene for the past 18 years, sharing the stage with Richie Havens, The Oak Ridge Boys and others.

The concert will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, October 13 in Wilson Auditorium, Dickinson Hall, University Plaza Drive, on the Hackensack side of Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan Campus.
