Teaneck, NJ (January 10, 2005) — Whether you like your blues with edgy energy, folk-flavored or with a ton of soul, “Across the Tracks,” the live Blues Benefit Concert for WFDU FM, has your kind of music.
On Sunday, January 30, 2005 at 5 p.m. at The Turning Point Café in Piermont, NY, the Bobby Radcliff Blues Band, Peter Karp’s Roadshow, Highway 13 Blues Band and Dennis Gruenling and Jump Time will bring the blues to life.
The concert benefits WFDU FM (89.1), the radio voice of Fairleigh Dickinson University and the premier blues station in the New York metro area. WFDU FM delivers more than 20 hours of blues programming every week.

The blues artists on stage for this concert are all-star musicians and each group brings their own singular sound to the evening.
“Bobby Radcliff just may be the greatest blues guitarist to ever come out of New York City,” according to Sound Views magazine. One of the most distinctive blues guitarists working today, Radcliff has shared the stage with Otis Rush, Roy Buchanan, James Cotton, Danny Gatton, Lowell Fulsom, and Dr. John. NPR’s Blues Stage describes him as “…a fine vocalist as well, and a force to be reckoned with any way you look at it.”
Peter Karp and the Roadshow Band perform more than 250 dates a year in the northeast, injecting folk-flavored funk and blues into Peter’s lyrical tunes. His original songs can be touching or hard-driving, but they provide glimpses into the lives of everyday men and women. Peter scored national attention with his song “These Are the Moments” when it was used by JVC as the theme for a national television campaign. The band is a group of road-tested veterans—Peter on guitar, piano and harmonica, Hernandez on drums, Niles Terrat on bass and Jim Ehinger on Hammond B-3 and piano.
The high-energy, four-piece Highway 13 Blues Band plays a healthy mix of originals and feature the best of SRV, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Freddie King and others. They wow audiences with a sound that pays its respects to the masters of the blues and recognizes the new breed of blues legends-to-be. Highway 13 Blues Band plays blue-collar blues with no frills but a lot of feel. The band features John Bastiani on guitar, Bill LaGreca on bass, Keith Mulhare on drums and Tim Lautz on keys.
Rounding out the bill is Dennis Gruenling and Jump Time. Dennis, who has been awarded “Best Modern Blues Harmonica Player” by Real Blues Magazine for 1999, 2000 and 2001, has played harmonica on the east coast for more than 10 years with legends in the business – B.B. King, Pinetop Perkins, Jimmy Dawkins, Snooky Pryor, and Homesick James. He fronts his band, Jump Time. Harmonica heavyweight Charlie Musselwhite says “Dennis Gruenling is one of my favorite harmonica players; his tone and phrasing is as good as it gets. “
