George W. Blank Awarded The Pinnacle
MADISON, NJ (JUNE 6, 2008) – In ceremonies on June 6 at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s College at Florham in Madison, NJ, George W. Blank, a primary resident of Juno Beach, FL, and part-time resident of Upper Saddle River, NJ, was inducted into the Pinnacle, the highest award the University can bestow upon its alumni. Pinnacle recipients are chosen on the basis of success or distinction in their chosen fields; significant contributions to society and humanity through public or humanitarian service; and outstanding service to the University, or reflection of the unique character of Fairleigh Dickinson in their lives.
Prior to his retirement, he served as the Chief Financial Officer and Senior/Executive Vice President of Univision Communications, Inc., and its predecessor company from 1987 to 2004. During Blank’s tenure with Univision, the company grew into the premier Spanish-language media company in the United States.
Before joining Univision, Blank, 56, served as Vice President and Controller of the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) from 1981 to 1987. From 1979 to 1981, Blank was NBC’s Director of Accounting Systems, Accounting and Financial Reporting. His prior employment was at RCA Corporation and Arthur Andersen and Co.
Blank serves on the “FDU Now” Campaign Steering Committee. He is a CPA who earned both his bachelor’s degree in accounting and master’s degree in business administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
