Brenda Giegerich Presents “Recent Work” at FDU
“Islands,” oil on canvas
Teaneck, NJ (February 26, 2013) –Brenda Giegerich’s paintings will be on display at the Edwards Williams Gallery on Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan Campus from March 4-29. The Gallery is in FDU’s Edward Williams Hall, 150 Kotte Place, Hackensack, N.J.
Giegerich’s paintings summon up imaginary worlds where the mind and spirit are invited to linger. Her inspiration comes from nature, “something I’ve seen that impacts me emotionally and that serves as a jumping point. I then allow the painting to become what it wants to be.” She also uses color to create an immediacy and vitality conveying both a kind of joy and innocence as well as an undercurrent of foreboding.
Giegerich has shown her work widely in solo, two-person shows and in group exhibits including those at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking, Norwalk, Conn., and at the Santa Fe Art Institute in New Mexico.
Gallery hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. There is no admission charge. For directions or more information, call 201-692-2449.
