Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurship accepts award at NJTC Awards Gala
The New Jersey Technology Council highlighted the achievements of industry leaders at their annual NJTC Awards Gala on November 15 at the Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset, NJ. The Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurship, part of Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Silberman College of Business, received the Excellence in Technology Education Award. James Barrood, Executive Director of the Rothman Institute, represented the Institute in accepting the award. The Rothman Institute was honored for their innovation in technology education, specifically geared toward fusing technology and education for Veterans students, family businesses, and high school students.
The Institute created an online/mobile-learning platform for their innovative Veterans Launching Ventures course, where veteran students learn the fundamentals of starting and sustaining a business, and which has now expanded nationally. For high school students, the Institute created the World Geography Challenge app, in addition to interactive and educational online modules in Creativity and Innovation, Communication and Networking, Global Understanding, and Personal Finance. Finally, their first worldwide family business app, the Family Business Playbook, is a mobile reference for family businesses growing and on the go, who are looking for expert insights on complexities of the family business arena.
