Newark Councilman Anibal Ramos, Jr. will speak at FDU

MADISON, N.J. (October 21, 2011)— Newark City Councilman Anibal Ramos, Jr. will speak on “Interrelated Structure: Leadership Built Across the Globe” at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s College at Florham on October 26, 2011, from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Ramos’ presentation will be held in Nathan’s Grill in the Stadler Zenner Building and a question-and-answer period will follow his lecture.

Born, raised, and educated in the City of Newark, Ramos is currently the Councilman of the North Ward, one of the largest and most diverse wards of Newark. For the past five years, Ramos has also served as a Cabinet member of Essex County Executive Joseph DiVencenzo, Jr. Ramos completed his undergraduate work at Rutgers-Newark in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in urban history and political science.

Ramos’ presentation is sponsored by FDU’s Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) program, the Diversity Council, and the Office of Campus Life. The EOF is a university- and state-sponsored program created in 1969 to ensure meaningful access to higher education for economically and educationally disadvantaged students.
