The All Seasons Chamber Players to Perform, Sunday, October 13, 2013
Teaneck, NJ (September 23, 2013) The All Season Chambers Players, one of New Jersey’s most popular and active chamber music ensembles, will perform a special concert of chamber music on Sunday, October 13 at 3:00 p.m. in Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Edward Williams Hall (150 Kotte Place, Hackensack, NJ). The event is sponsored by the Cultural Arts Department and will also include a reception and art exhibit in the Edward Williams Gallery of paintings by Preston Trombly entitled “ Imaginary Landscapes.”
Admission to the concert, reception and art exhibit is free and all are welcome. The audience is invited to come as early as 2:00 p.m. to enjoy the art exhibit and reception before the 3:00 concert. There is ample parking and seating and reservations are not needed. About the Program
The program, “The French-Russian Connection,” will open with a set of cello pieces by Rachmanioff, Shostakovich, Faure and Tchaikovsky performed by well-known solo cellist E. Zoe Hassman. These pieces will be followed by the light-hearted and tuneful Musique de Cour for Flute, Violin and Piano by Jean Francaix. The second half of the program will feature the powerful and romantic Arensky Trio in D Minor for Violin, Cello and Piano. Bob Lawrence, Co-Director for Programs, will introduce each piece to the audience with personal spoken program notes.
Performers will include flutist Brenda Sakofsky of New City, NY; violinist Bob Lawrence of NYC, cellist E. Zoe Hassman of NYC; pianist Jean Strickholm of Demarest and guest artisit pianist Jacqueline Schiller-Audi of Paramus. Ms. Schiller-Audi holds degrees from The Juillard School and The Mannes College of Music. She has performed extensively as a chamber musician and soloist with several orchestras including the Martinu Philharmonic at Carnegie Hall and has collaborated with members of the New York Philharmonic.
Now in its 33rd season, the All Seasons Chamber Players has performed over 700 live concerts in the metropolitan area. In addition, thousands of people have heard the ensemble on local TV stations. Ensemble performers are professional musicians who also play with major area orchestras, Broadway show and summer music festivals.
Winner of the Award for Artistic Excellence from the Bergen County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs, the ensemble has also received grants from several corporate and private sources.
The All Seasons Chamber Players is performing 23 concerts in the 2013-2014 season at Edward Williams Auditorium (FDU Hackensack), The Central Unitarian Church of Paramus, the Oradell Reformed Church; Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ridgewood; the Art center of Northern New Jersey in New Milford; and the public libraries of New Milford, Upper Saddle River, Fort Lee, Ridgewood, Englewood, Teaneck, Mahwah, Passaic, New City and Ossining.
