The All Seasons Chamber Players to Perform, Sunday October 21, 2012
Teaneck, NJ (October 4, 2012) The All Seasons Chamber Players, one of New Jersey’s most popular and active chamber music ensembles, will perform a special concert of chamber music on Sunday, October 21 at 3:00 P.M. at Edward Williams Auditorium on Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan Campus (150 Kotte Place, Hackensack, NJ). This event is sponsored by FDU’s Cultural Arts Department and will also include a reception and art exhibit in the Edward Williams Gallery of paintings by Marilyn Bogdannfy.
Admission to the concert, reception and art exhibit is free and all are welcome. The audience is invited to come at 2:00 P.M. to enjoy the art exhibit and reception before the 3:00 concert. There is ample parking and seating and reservations are not needed. About the Program
The program, entitled Classical Favorites, will provide a variety of works for flute, violin, cello and piano: London Trio in G for by Joseph Haydn; Sonata “Undine” by Carl Reinecke based on a classical myth about a love affair between a water nymph and a human being; and the rousing and familiar Sonata for Violin and Piano by Sergei Prokofiev. Bob Lawrence, Co-Director for Programs, will introduce each piece with entertaining spoken program notes.
Performers will include flutist Brenda Sakofsky of New City, NY; violinist Bob Lawrence of NYC; cellist E. Zoe Hassman of NYC; and two special guest pianists - Jan Deats of Nyack, NY; and Cynthia Peterson of Cortland Manor, NY. Ms. Deats teaches music at the Elizabeth Morrow School in Englewood, the Rockland Conservatory of Music and at the Manhattan School of Music. Ms. Peterson is a graduate of The Juilliard School and holds a doctorate from the University of Connecticut. She is currently on the music faculty of the State University of New York at New Paltz.
Now in its 32nd season, the All Seasons Chamber Players has performed over 670 live concerts in the metropolitan area. In addition, thousands of people have heard the ensemble on Cablevision’s MetroArts/13 programs, COMCAST, WTT-35 and other local cable TV stations. Winner of the Award for Artistic Excellence from the Bergen County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs, the ensemble has received grants from several corporate and private sources. Performers are professional musicians who also play with major area orchestras, Broadway shows and summer music festivals.
This concert is one of 15 free, public Community Concerts for Bergen County supported by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts with grant funds administered by the Bergen County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs. Additional support is provided by the Bergen Foundation, the Puffin Foundation, Columbia Bank, the Lillian P. Schenck Fund, Target, Shop Rite of Hackensack, and over 150 Friends of All Seasons.
The All Seasons Chamber Players is performing 20 concerts in the 2012-2013 season at Edward Williams Auditorium (FDU Hackensack); the Central Unitarian Church of Paramus; the Oradell Reformed Church; Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ridgewood; the Art Center of Northern New Jersey in New Milford; the Barron Arts Center in Woodbridge; Caldwell College; Cedar Crest Village; and the public libraries of New Milford, Upper Saddle River, Fort Lee, Ridgewood, Englewood, Teaneck, Mahwah, and Ossining.
