Watch FDU Student Films on the Big Screen in Morristown for Only $5

MADISON, NJ (April 23, 2010) –FDU’s Visual and Performing Arts Program invites the public to the “2010 Senior Thesis Night Film Festival” to see the culmination of four years of study and work by FDU’s film and animation students. Several short narrative fiction films will be screened at the festival at Clearview Headquarters 10 Theatres in Morristown, NJ on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 from 5-11 p.m.

The films, which are required for graduation from the program, range from 10-45 minutes. A tremendous variety of films will be screened. The audience will see “Out of Focus” a film about a successful Hollywood cinematographer whose career rides a rollercoaster. Another film, “Decaffinated,” is a romantic slapstick comedy that is sure to entertain.

“The Risen” is one of two zombie-themed films being screened during the show. In “The Risen,” a comic book writer out one day only to find himself in the middle of a zombie invasion. “A Zombie Movie” follows a man (who happens to be a zombie) who struggles to find his place in the world during a zombie apocalypse.

In a scenario that some high school seniors can relate to, “The Student Trap” is about two friends who apply to colleges and receive their acceptance letters. The only problem is that they each get rejected from their dream schools but the other got into the college they had hoped for. In a comedic twist, they decide to switch places and go to the college they wanted. All they have to do is adjust to living with a different name and not get caught.

The film “Empath” details the secret Empath experiment, a processes meant to allow actors to fully become the characters they just played. “Of My Dreams” follows a dissatisfied high school student, who after being hypnotized, finds himself facing his own insecurities in different movies as he sleeps.

The event is open to the public and the $5 admission supports the FDU film program in the Visual and Performing Arts Department. Seating is limited. Clearview Headquarters 10 Theaters is located at 72 Speedwell Avenue, Madison, NJ.
