• The Office of Human Resources is holding Employee Voluntary Benefits Fairs from noon to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17, in the Lobby of Dickinson Hall, Metropolitan Campus, and on Thursday, November 19, in Lenfell Hall, Hennessy Hall, College at Florham. Companies represented include The Hartford Group, United Healthcare, MetLife, TIAA-CREF, Liberty Mutual, New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company, Liberty Mutual and Hyatt Legal Plans. Information and coupons on other fringe benefits, such as Dress Barn, Buyer’s Edge, Jos.A.Banks Clothier and Broadway theater and venue-discount programs, will also be available.
• Lady in the Labyrinth: Milton’s “Comus” as Initiation by William Shullenberger, which was published by Fairleigh Dickinson University Press in 2008, was named co-winner of the James Holly Hanford Award for the best book on Milton by the Milton Society of America. The award will be given during the 2009 conference of the Modern Language Assocation in Philadelphia, Pa., on December 28.
• Forty-three Metropolitan Campus student-athletes have been named to the Northeast Conference spring academic honor roll. Among them are five baseball players, six men’s golfers, five from the men’s outdoor track and field team, six men’s tennis players, four women’s golfers, three from the women’s outdoor track and field team, five women’s tennis players and nine softball players.
• Fall Career Fairs are being held at the Metropolitan Campus on Thursday, November 12, and on Wednesday, November 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Lobby of Dickinson Hall. The career fairs are co-sponsored by the Career Development Office and the Metropolitan Campus Student Government Association.
• A Kick-off Informational for Relay for Life, a fundraising event of the American Cancer Society, was held on Tuesday, November 10, at the Rutherford Room of the Student Union Building, Metropolitan Campus. The session was held in preparation for Relay for Life at FDU on April 8 and 9, 2010.
