In 2008, Knauff and her husband established the Knauff Family Endowed Scholarship in honor of the Alumni Association Board of Governors.

Knauff has received a number of awards recognizing her service to the University, including the Elia G. Stratis CASTLE Award in 2007 and The PINNACLE Award in 2002. The Elia G. The acronym CASTLE represents Commitment, Allegiance, Support, Teamwork, Leadership and Enthusiasm, all qualities Knauff demonstrated during her years at FDU, both as a student and an alumna. The PINNACLE Award acknowledges the contributions and achievements of its most distinguished alumni.

In addition to her MBA from FDU, Knauff also holds an MS in engineering management from the University of Missouri at Rolla and a BS in electrical engineering from the Pennsylvania State University.

She worked for AT&T for 28 years, retiring as president of AT&T International, where she was responsible for all operations outside the U.S. Knauff and her husband, Jeffrey, have two children.
