Paintings and Photographs Showcased at FDU

Upcoming and current free exhibits at the Metropolitan Campus include local artists and an award-winning photographer.

Watercolors and acrylics on canvas by New Milford, N.J., resident Marjorie Shaw Kubach are currently on display in a retrospective exhibit at the Gallery of Edward Williams Hall. Kubach has painted in watercolor for the past 20 years but has also explored abstraction in acrylic painting and printmaking. Both mediums are part of her exhibit. The exhibit will run until November 30. Gallery hours are Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.– p.m.; and on Saturday, 9:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

Teaneck, N.J., artist Judith Bellini is ending a month-long exhibit on Friday, November 16, on the second floor of the Weiner Library. The exhibit highlighted the evolution of Bellini’s art – from her beginnings with abstract expressionism to her newly found connection to nature.

Landscape photographs by award-winning photographer Robert Parker are on display at the Metro Writing Studio on the second floor of Weiner Library. A 40-year veteran of photography, Parker won Best in Show and an Award of Excellence at the 2006 Open Photography Exhibition at Ringwood Manor. The exhibit, which features 13 landscapes taken in various locations throughout the United States, Latin America and Europe, will run until November 22. Exhibit hours are Monday–Friday, 7–9 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.

On November 24, black-and-white and color photographs by Peter Aldrich will be on display at the Metro Writing Studio. Aldrich’s subject matters are varied — from landscapes and urbanscapes to architecture and detail shots — and taken in New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Virginia and North Carolina. The exhibit will run until March 14, 2008. Exhibit hours are Monday–Thursday, 8–10 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.; and Sunday, noon–10 p.m.
