Japanese Students Share Tsunami Experience
One hundred students from two Japanese high schools came to speak at the College at Florham as part of their tour of the United States.
They conveyed their firsthand stories of the earthquake and devastating tsunami and told the audience about the destruction and the recovery. They showed photos on a projector screen of flooding, destroyed buildings, and empty grocery store shelve.
Here as part of a program called Kizuna, which means “bond” in Japanese, the students spent 30 minutes after the question and answer period to meet and speak informally with those in the audience.
