Author Colm Toibin Speaks to Students

Author Colm Toibin, whose book Brooklyn, serves as this year’s Freshman Read, spoke to students on Thursday, November 8 in Lenfell Hall. Toibin told the audience anecdotes from his childhood in Ireland, and how those experienced influenced his writing. He later read from Brooklyn and took questions. The Freshman Read is a common intellectual experience of incoming freshmen. The event was sponsored by Becton College, The College Writing Program, and Campus Life-The Dean of Students.
