New Jersey educators attend STEM event at FDU
On Friday, October 25, nearly 250 K-12 educators from around the state of New Jersey came to the College at Florham to attend "Decoding the Next Generation Science Standards," a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics program. The free event was presented by the STEM Institute of Education (SIE) at Fairleigh Dickinson University and qualified for educator professional development hours.
FDU's University Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, Christopher A. Capuano, Ph.D. (right), delivered the opening remarks. Other distinguished speakers included Michael Heinz, Science Coordinator of the New Jersey Department of Education (above), and Kiron Sharma, Ph.D., Co-Director of SIE and Professor of Computer Science.
