Book Review Known for her caustic wit, Dorothy Parker also wrote poetry, short stories, screenplays, general essays, and book reviews. The essays in this collection, written between 1978 and 2003, explore the significance of Parker’s work, which was shaped by the tensions between modernism and feminism. The volume is organized into broad categories that have emerged in critical discussion since the 1970s: Modernist Contexts, Feminist Issues, Classroom Encounters, and Conversations. The latter includes letters and a 1956 interview with Parker by Marion Capron. American Literature, Dec. 2005 To see a full description of this book, search our online database
