When I started my academic career, I planned to get a terminal degree in psychology. Fairleigh Dickinson University was my choice because of it's excellent reputation for psychological services within the community. Fairleigh has a Doctoral Program in Psychology that also was of interest to me. However, as I progressed through each semester of undergraduate studies, I began to realize that, as valuable as it is, research was not for me. I opted, instead, for a Masters in Social Work. I applied to, and was accepted by the Ehrenkrantz School of Social Work at New York University while in my Senior year at FDU. I completed the NYU program in 1998 and have just recently been certified as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I help to run the Juvenile Sexual Program at Barnert Hospital's Community Behavioral Health Center in Paterson, New Jersey. Our program treats children and adolescents with sexual behavior problems and victims of sexual abuse. It is both rewarding and challenging and I wouldn't have it any other way.
